Batch invoicing

Every customer, one sheet.

Repeat last month, change what changed, and create one invoice per customer or per site.

Housecall Pro
Batch invoicing works one customer at a time: select their invoices and send them together.
How batch invoicing works
Invoice several: last month repeated, a row per suite with its service address, reference and amount

Checks

The morning’s mail, recorded.

Type each customer’s check against their open invoices, then record them all at once, with one Undo.

Housecall Pro
A batch payment covers one customer’s selected invoices; mobile check deposit takes one job at a time.
How recording payments works
Record payments: four checks typed against four property managers, each paying their invoices in full

Service addresses

The site on the invoice.

Save a customer’s buildings once. Each invoice names its site beside the billing address, with the PO.

Housecall Pro
As many addresses as you need; the job’s address prints as the service address.
How service companies bill
An invoice for one suite: the service address beside the billing address and the PO as Your reference

Late fees

Late fees that follow your terms.

A percentage, a flat fee or both, once or repeating, with a cap if you want one. Add each fee yourself when it’s ready, or let it apply on its own.

Housecall Pro
No automatic late fees in its help center; you write late-fee terms on the invoice.
How late fees work
An overdue BillGrid invoice with a banner: late fee ready, $18.90, 1.5% of $1,260.00 unpaid as the terms told the client, with Add late fee and Not now

Switching

Moving over is three steps.

Export your customers from Housecall Pro (Customers, then Actions, then Export; admins only) as a CSV file. Our guide shows where to find it.

  2. Import them into BillGrid

BillGrid shows what it found in the file, and what it skips, before anything is saved.

  3. Connect Stripe and send

Connect your own Stripe account, set your reminders, and send your next invoice.

Jobs, schedules and service plans stay in Housecall Pro. Keep it for dispatch if your crews run from it.

Questions

Before you switch.

Can I use my own Stripe account with Housecall Pro?

No. Cards go through Housecall Pro’s processor: 2.99% for an online invoice and 1% for a bank payment. BillGrid uses your own Stripe account and adds nothing to Stripe’s 2.9% + 30¢, or 0.8% (at most $5) for a US bank payment.

Does Housecall Pro have batch invoicing?

For one customer at a time: select their invoices, then send them or record a payment. BillGrid bills every customer in one sheet and records several customers’ checks at once.

What does Housecall Pro cost?

Its pricing page lists Basic at $79 a month ($59 billed yearly) for one person, Essentials at $189 for five and Max at $329 for eight. Its trade packages, such as electrical, show other prices. BillGrid is $10 a month, $40 for a team of four.

I schedule crews in Housecall Pro. Can BillGrid do that?

No. BillGrid has no scheduling, dispatch or GPS. If your crews run from Housecall Pro, keep it for that; BillGrid is for businesses whose work is the billing.
