About

Billing clients since 2011.

BillGrid is online invoicing software for freelancers and small businesses: estimates, invoices, time tracking, reminders and card payments, in one web app.

What BillGrid is

BillGrid helps people who bill clients get paid without running full accounting software. You send an estimate your client approves online, turn it into an invoice in one click, and your client pays by card. Recurring invoices and payment reminders go out on their own, and the hours you track and the expenses you log flow onto the next invoice.

Who it's for

Freelancers, consultants, designers, web developers and small teams, mostly in the United States, with customers in Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia and beyond. Every plan has unlimited invoices, estimates and clients.

How long it has been around

BillGrid has been sending invoices since 2011. In 2026 the app was rebuilt with a new design, and every account moved over with its clients, invoices and history intact; the announcement covers what changed.

Who makes it

A small team of engineers in Silicon Valley. You can reach the people who build it at support@billgrid.com or through the contact form.

How it's paid for

By subscriptions, and nothing else. Professional is $8 a month; Company is $20 a month plus $5 for each extra staff login; both are free for 30 days with no card needed (pricing). Your clients' card payments go through your own Stripe account, and BillGrid adds no fee to them. There are no ads, and as the privacy policy says, we do not sell, trade or rent your personal information.

Is it safe?

Every page is served over HTTPS. Clients pay in Stripe's secure card form, so card details go straight to Stripe and BillGrid never sees or stores full card numbers. You can export any report to CSV or Excel, cancel whenever you like, and close your account yourself. More on how we keep it safe.

Is BillGrid the same as Bill.com?

No. BillGrid is an independent product with no connection to Bill.com, which makes accounts payable and receivable software for larger businesses.

What it doesn't do

BillGrid isn't accounting software: no bookkeeping, bank feeds or payroll. There's no mobile app (it works in any browser, and clients can pay invoices on their phones), no proposals or e-signatures, and no automatic late fees. If you need those, our comparison pages say honestly which tools do them better.
