Your Billing, in the Conversation
31% of small and medium-sized businesses in an OECD study published in November 2025 reported using generative AI. The late-2024 survey covered more than 5,000 businesses in seven countries. For people already working in an assistant, billing is another place where a useful question can save a trip through the menus.
BillGrid now connects your account to compatible AI assistants. Ask what's overdue, log the hour you just finished, or prepare an invoice draft from the work you select. The answer links back to the actual BillGrid record, where you can check what happened.
From a question to a useful next step
Start small: “Show my overdue invoices, separated by currency.” You get balances and due dates without adding dollars and euros into a misleading total. Ask about an estimate's recorded approval, a client's unbilled work or your receivables aging report.
Then move the work forward. On an hourly project, log billable time at its saved rate and ask for an invoice draft from only that project's work. BillGrid uses the account's timezone for “today.” Open the returned link and review the client, hours, rate, dates and currency. The draft stays unsent until you choose the next step.
A preview is a separate step
Email deserves a pause. Before sending an invoice, estimate or payment reminder, ask for a preview. Check the recipients, subject, amount, opening message and whether a PDF is attached. A separate explicit confirmation is required after that preview; a changed or expired preview needs a fresh review.
Assistant access cannot charge a card, transfer or refund money, record received payments, permanently delete records or change your BillGrid subscription. Connecting is permission to use the access you approve, not permission to send an email on its own.
Your assistant, with your account's boundaries
The connection is shared across compatible providers: ChatGPT, Claude, Claude Code and other remote MCP assistants with OAuth sign-in. Your provider's plan and workspace settings determine the setup options available. BillGrid is not yet listed in the ChatGPT directory; the connection guide explains the current path.
Owners control whether assistants are enabled and whether staff may connect. Each person's existing client and financial permissions still apply. Access is included with Pro and Team, including trials, and retained Classic integration access. Solo is excluded.
Information returned by the assistant goes to its provider. Review business records, notes, files and document PDFs before connecting, and read the provider's privacy controls. Disconnecting stops future access through that connection; completed changes and information already shared remain.
