Features / Client conversations

The question and the bill.
In the same place.

Discuss an invoice or estimate on its document page. Keep the client's questions beside the work being billed, with a separate audience for notes meant only for your team.

  1. 01 / OPEN

    Find the right document.

Open the invoice or estimate and its activity. Your client can leave a comment from the document page you shared.

  2. 02 / CHOOSE

    Decide who should see it.

The team's composer starts on Only my team. Choose Share with client when your answer belongs in the client's conversation.

  3. 03 / POST

    Keep the answer attached.

Write the reply and choose Post. If you want an email copy sent to the document's recipients, select that option before posting a shared comment.

The context stays close

Answer where the question lives.

A client can ask what a line covers without starting a separate conversation away from the invoice. You can open the same document, check its details and post a shared answer.

Use the estimate conversation to clarify proposed work; use the invoice conversation to explain the bill. Comments belong to that document, rather than a general client inbox.

Illustrative exchange / shared with clientClient: Does this include the print handoff?

Team: Yes. The final line covers preparing the agreed print files. The delivery files are listed under Enclosed on this invoice.

Can we comment on archived documents?

Comments are closed on archived invoices and estimates. Restore the associated project or client before continuing the discussion. See archiving and restoring work.

How long can a comment be?

Each comment can contain up to 4,000 characters. For delivery material, use files and links on the document and keep the comment focused on the explanation.
